My dry, flaky winter skin loves an oatmeal bath but I also love these simple homemade facial scrubs for healthy glowing skin all year round. Many of you already know that oatmeal has soothing properties that reduce irritation from bumps and rashes, now try this classic natural scrub recipe containing oatmeal.
Simple Homemade Facial Scrub Recipes
When you have sensitive skin, you have to be careful as to what you put on your face and body. This simple soothing mask helps reduce skin irritation caused by sun damage, or a hereditary skin condition.
1/2 Cup Oatmeal (chop in kitchen chopper until a powder is formed)
1 TBSP Vitamin E Oil
1 TBSP Jojoba Oil (I’ve used olive oil and it worked just fine)
3 Drops Lavender Essential Oil (optional)
Blend all ingredients together, apply to the skin for 10 minutes, and rinse with luke warm water. Apply a gentle face lotion or cream to lock in moisture.
Corn and Rice Exfoliater
In a blender add 1 Tablespoon of each of the following and blend.
1 Tbsp dry corn kernels
1 Tbsp Ground Rice Powder
1 Tbsp Cucumber Juice (oily skin)
OR if your skin is normal to dry use
1 Tbsp Carrot Juice
Blend until a paste is formed and gently massage into face and neck for a few minutes. Concentrate on the clogged areas, like the nose, but don’t over scrub, or scrub harshly. For best results, use 2-3 times a week.
Rinse, and follow recipe with your favorite organic moisturizer.

I am also a big fan of sugar. I know it’s gotten a bad name when it comes to nutrition but I love using sugar with other natural ingredients to make simple homemade facial scrubs to restore the look of freshness and vitality to tired, dull skin.
